As a kick-off to Rockwell City’s Sweet Corn Daze, the Rockwell City Chamber of Commerce held a golf tournament at Twin Lakes Country Club on Friday, July 31st, 2026.
Dan Johnson and Morgan Schamel staffed the hole sponsored by both Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association and Evergreen Internet. Webster-Calhoun provides Internet, Wi-Fi, phone and TV services to the City of Rockwell City and Evergreen Internet will be starting construction this fall installing fiber throughout Twin Lakes.
It was an overcast and drizzly day but made fun for everyone with an optional golf ball launcher on the 9th hole.
Lehigh Valley Cooperative Telephone Association based in Lehigh, Iowa, and Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association based in Gowrie, Iowa, are neighboring companies in Webster County and have an extensive history and experience in providing reliable Internet, Wi-Fi, TV and phone services locally. We are thrilled to create this partnership to support the residents of Twin Lakes with a system built to last and backed by people who take pride in maintaining it.
Who is doing the construction?
Lehigh Valley and Webster-Calhoun both have a long history with the contractor, Central Cable Contractors from Waupon, WI. They have done all our past fiber construction and we are confident they will do excellent work particularly with the challenge of a densely developed shoreline. We are also working with Vantage Point Solutions from Mitchell, SD for engineering and support.
How do we get started?
Contact us to schedule a site survey. Initially we request property owners to provide authorization and permission to place fiber underneath your property to your home or business. The site survey allows us to talk with you directly and determine how the fiber will cross your property and connect to your buildings. There is no charge for a fiber drop during construction and no obligation for taking our service.
Don’t miss this free opportunity to connect to our 100% fiber-to-the-premise network. Fiber service is valued by homeowners because it provides fast, reliable Internet for work-from-home needs, streaming, Wi-Fi, smart home devices, security systems, telehealth, and everyday online use. It can also make a property more attractive to future buyers as dependable high-speed Internet continues to be an important home feature. If pre-authorization is not given during the initial installation process, construction charges will apply for connecting later.
What services will Evergreen Internet offer?
Watch for more information about available products and services (local telephone, Internet access options with over a Gig – Gigabit per second – in upload AND download speeds, Wi-Fi, and streaming TV). Although we expect construction to begin in September we appreciate your patience throughout the construction and testing process. We estimate service will begin in the spring of 2027. Visit our website at www.evergreenfiberinternet.com for more information.
We look forward to bringing Twin Lakes the same reliable, high-quality service we provide to over 25 small rural communities. If you have questions, concerns, or want to sign up for a site visit, please contact our local office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 515-352-3000—you’ll speak directly with a local person.

GOWRIE, Iowa — With letters mailed to local residents, Evergreen Internet announced that construction will begin late this summer on a new fiber optic communications network serving North and South Twin Lakes. The project will bring future-ready broadband infrastructure to the area, with service installation expected to begin in spring 2027.
Evergreen Internet is a newly formed partnership between Lehigh Valley Cooperative Telephone Association, based in Lehigh, Iowa, and Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association, based in Gowrie, Iowa. Together, the neighboring Webster County providers bring decades of experience delivering reliable internet, Wi-Fi, TV, and telephone services to local communities. The partnership was formed to serve Twin Lakes residents with a durable, locally supported network built by providers committed to long-term service and maintenance.
Construction of the fiber network will be completed by Central Cable Contractors of Waupun, Wisconsin, a longtime contractor for both Lehigh Valley and Webster-Calhoun on past fiber projects.Engineering support is being provided by Vantage Point Solutions of Mitchell, South Dakota.
“This project presents unique challenges because of the densely developed shoreline,” notes Jim Suchan, CEO, Lehigh Valley Cooperative Telephone. “Both Lehigh Valley and Webster-Calhoun haveworked with these companies with tremendous success.”

As part of the process, property owners are being asked to provide authorization for crews to plow or bore fiber to their home or business. There is no cost for this work during the initial constructionphase and authorization does not require residents to purchase service. Evergreen Internet encourages property owners to sign up for the fiber drop and a site survey will allow a personal conversation about where and how the underground fiber will connect.
Additional information about available services, including telephone, internet access, Wi-Fi, and TV, will be shared as construction progresses. While work is expected to begin in September,Evergreen Internet noted that final network and service details are still being reviewed. Once available, information will be shared with property owners and prospective customers.
“This ties in nicely with our existing fiber network providing service in the communities of Manson and Rockwell City. We’re excited to work with Lehigh Valley to make this happen,” added MarcieBoerner, CEO, of Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association. “Together we look forward to bringing the same quality and reliable service we already provide to 25 small rural communities to the Twin Lakes area.”
